16 Sep 2019 : Jimmy Moore is heading back to Runcorn Linnets
Runcorn Linnets' Player of the Year in their championship-winning campaign has agreed to return to the club as manager Michael Ellison looks to improve his team's defensive fortunes.
Jimmy Moore had an unforgettable season at Runcorn Linnets in 2017-18 - finishing it not only with a Hallmark Security League Premier Division title winners' medal but also the two principal first-team playing awards for the campaign.
He lifted the Jimmy Lightfoot Trophy as the Supporters Club Player of the Year as well as the Players' PoY prize after performing outstandingly at the heart of the Linnets' defence.
Jimmy left the Linnets in early September 2018 for a second spell with Trafford, after making 47 appearances in the Yellow & Green.
The centre back's former clubs also include Cheadle Town, Atherton Collieries and Abbey Hey.
Linnets are yet to keep a clean sheet in eight league and cup games this season, suffering a series of defensive mistakes while conceding three and four goals in draws on the road at Dunston and last Saturday at Clitheroe.
Manager Michael Ellison said: "I don't have to remind anyone what Jimmy Moore will bring to the side. When the opportunity arose to bring him back, it was a no brainer for me.
"He will be rusty and it will take him a bit of tine to get up to speed after his injuries but he will be a huge asset to the squad and I'm delighted to have him back."
