Welcome

Welcome to the official website of Runcorn Linnets FC.

We are a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 and were formed in the 2006 off-season by the fans of the now defunct Runcorn FC (which was playing under the name "Runcorn FC Halton" at the time). Although when we formed we were technically a "new" club, the Linnets were given special dispensation by the FA to be treated as a reformed version of Runcorn FC - the special dispensation was necessary as the old club had simply become dormant, choosing not to field a team, as opposed to ceasing to exist as a legal entity.

We currently play in the Hallmark Security Football League (North West Counties Football League), and were awarded Charter Standard in October 2011.

Home game against Abbey Hey rearranged for Saturday, September 23

We will entertain Abbey Hey on Saturday, September 23rd in a rearranged league fixture. We were hitherto without a game due to this being the date of the Buildbase FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round.

The visit of Abbey Hey has now been brought forward by The Hallmark Security League from its original date of Tuesday, October 3rd.

New date set for AFC Darwen away game

After the recent postponement, our Hallmark Security League Premier Division game at AFC Darwen has been rearranged for Wednesday, September 27th (ko 7.45pm)

2017-18 membership renewals and applications

Runcorn Linnets' 2016-17 membership year ended on August 31st 2017.

All annual memberships expired on that date and became due for renewal on September 1st 2017.

Applications from new members are also welcome.

Runcorn Linnets FC is owned and run by its fans on a one member, one vote basis and elections to the Trust Board take place annually.

Membership forms are available from the Information Station in the clhbhouse or from the Trust page

2017-18 membership costs 5 for adults and 3 for under 16s and 65s/over. Family membership at 10 is for two adults and two u16s.

New date for your diaries with festive fixture change

It's still a fair way off but there is a slight alteration to our fixtures over the Christmas and New Year period. We will entertain Hanley Town in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division on Friday, December 29th (ko 7.45pm) instead of Saturday, December 30th as originally scheduled.

Runcorn beat AFC Liverpool in the The Hallmark Security League Premier Division at The Millbank Linnets Stadium with a score of 5-2. AFC Liverpool scored in the 15th minute. AFC Liverpool increased their lead in the 21st minute from a penalty. Wellstead penalty saved in 27th minute. Stuart Wellstead closed the gap in the 32nd minute from an unstoppable penalty. Mark Houghton equalised in added time of the first half with a terrific tap from inside the 6 yard box. Rory Fallon put the Linnets ahead in the 51st minute with a cracking strike from the edge of the 6 yard box. Stuart Wellstead increased the Linnets' lead from another penalty in the 59th minute. Paul Shanley extended our lead with a curling shot from just outside the area in the 79th minute.

Stuart Wellstead put the Linnets ahead with a lovely strike from inside the 6 yard box in the 19th minute. Aaron Morris increased the Linnets' lead in the 62nd minute with a cracking header from a corner. Paul Shanley extended our lead in the 89th minute following a well-taken shot from just outside the 6 yard box.
