Antony Hickey

Position : -Forward

One of the established players to stay at Runcorn Linnets during the traumatic summer of 2016 - marked by a mass exodus from our squad - Antony was amply and justly rewarded by our championship triumph in 2017-18. Hickey's loyalty was much appreciated not only by his now manager, Michael Ellison but also the club's supporters who had already valued the contribution made by the player in both his spells with the club.

Equally effective operating wide right (that's where we are now most accustomed to seeing him) or attacking through the middle, Antony was a Northern Premier League title winner with Skelmersdale United, finishing as one of their top scorers.

He has never been short of goals with Runcorn either, and never fails to put in a good shift.

He had North West Counties Football League experience before arriving in Murdishaw, having played for St Helens Town and Bootle.

Antony stepped up into the NPL with Warrington Town in August 2011. His goals helped the Wire to secure their then highest-ever finish of 9th, under the guidance of Joey Dunn with whom he was later reunited at The Millbank Linnets Stadium.

Antony originally arrived at Runcorn in July 2013 but returned to Warrington in June 2014, before rejoining the Linnets in September 2015.

He departed in the 2018-19 close season.

Antony Hickey is not available for sponsorship at this time.
