Aaron Morris

Position : Defender

Aaron joined Runcorn Linnets as a central defender for the start of 2016-17 and has been an regular member of the Linnets' rearguard ever since.

Prior to joining us, he had caught the eye playing in the North West Counties League's Division One for St Helens Town.

Upon arrival, Aaron featured strongly in the Linnets' 2017 pre-season programme but was successfully switched from defence to midfield in the warm-up victory at Middlewich.

This prompted manager Michael Ellison to name Aaron in the more advanced position for his competitive debut, in the FA Cup tie at Hemsworth Miners Welfare.

Aaron reverted to defence as the season began to unfold, his adaptability proving more than handy in helping Ello to juggle with a changing squad.

Aaron went the whole of his first season as ever present in the team, and was named Supporters Club Player Of The Season, Players' Player Of The Season and Young Linnets Player Of The Season for 2016-17.

His involvement in 2017-18 was slightly affected by injury in the final stages. Even so, he was the joint seventh highest appearance maker in our championship-winning campaign with 41, scoring twice.

Aaron is a calm and assured performer at the heart of defence.
